A brief bio – Born and raised in Bangalore, India, introduced to the joys of outdoors when I started hiking in India, I came to the United States, Arizona to study.
This period in my life gave me the opportunity to hike, to visit and experience the beautiful land that is the American Southwest. Along the way, somewhere Photography hooked me. What started as an attempt to make my snapshots better, to recreate, in a small way, what I saw and felt, lead to a serious undertaking of photography, still with the same motive…to try to capture the beauty around me, to try to evoke the same feeling in the viewer that grips me when I’m in the midst of nature. I hope to show in my photographs the joy of the moment, the fascinating complexity of a tree bark, the awe-inspiring magnificence of the mountain…
After surviving my student days, I have now moved to California and currently reside in the Bay area. The working life has brought me newer means of getting out there: rock climbing, bicycling. I am still fascinated by the American Southwest, but California has found a niche in my heart with its coasts, forests and deserts, mountains and plains. To be fair, every other state I have visited, has similarly amazed me with its beauty! All I can hope is to travel to wherever life leads me, with my camera in hand. Myphotographs and photoblog, I hope will also take you, the viewer along in my journeys.

My latest undertaking is a series called “Photo Talks” – a series of interviews with photographers well known & little known.
I conduct these interviews through email- I send the interested photographer a few questions and then post what they had to say along with 3-6 of their photographs. I try to do post a new interview every other Friday. The interviews are posted on myphotoblog. If you want to look at all the past interviews without looking at my daily blog photos you can go here for the index of Photo Talks. Thanks for reading!
