Three Pelicans
Elkhorn Slough, California.
Pelicans, fascinating birds, were in abundance during the Elkhorn Slough safari. These three pelicans here were posing for me. The farthermost one is a juvenile. The center one is an adult in full mating plumage with the golden head and the red neck. The closest one is partly in mating plumage.

Very nice. I like the focus on this one. I think if you had adjusted the DoF, you might have gotten the juvenile one also into focus. I am glad to see the 300 mm lens giving this sharp image. I have been a little worried about its sharpness performance as some reviews about the lens criticizes the sharpness factor.

oh yeah .. sweet!
very nice of them to pose for you ,.. but more importantly, you clicked when it mattered
The repeating patters are always interesting and here .. finding it in living thriving things is rare .. and the subtle difference with the colors.
As mentioned above .. would have been icing on the cake if you could get all the three of them in focus, but with that focal length, would have been difficult.
