Amidst crashing waves

Amidst crashing waves
Amidst crashing waves, by Suprada on Flickr.

Amidst crashing waves, San Francisco, CA.

Walking south from the Golden gate bridge , about 1/3rd of the way, one finds the first of the two towers bridging the gap between bridge and sky. The visitor who awed by the height, needing a break, looks below to the water, this is what will greet him…some old broken down structure on a rocky outcrop beaten by waves on 3 sides…

  1. Cool .. don’t think I have seen any other shot from you with the 50mm.
This pic looked sharp and then saw that it was from the 50mm prime .. that too at f8 ..
The perspective is what makes this stand out .. a point of view that is not common .. almost something you would expect to see from air in a plane.
Like the sea green color and the red contrasting against it.
The Rocks and the rough rundown place provide nice texture.
You also know, but mentioning it anyways… the lighting could have been better ..
wrong time of the day perhaps ..
Compositionally feels a bit too centered .. both Horizontally and vertically ..
the bottom half of the pic has the crashing waves action .. the top is calm ..
so might be a good idea to include more of the bottom part of water.
Also might be a good idea to provide negative space to the right .. but that might mean you lose
out on the rough earthen textures to the left.

  2. The technical details are beyond me , But I’ve definitely enjoyed your snaps. Keep them coming.
