We took the hop-on hop-off bus tour of Barcelona. This was one of the places where we got off the bus – and we were the only ones. I was a little apprehensive that no other tourist wanted to check out this monastery … and we ended up liking it. It is a very peaceful place, founded in 1326 by Elisenda de Montcada, Jaume II\’s queen, as a place where she could retire to after the king\’s death (What a mobrbid thought – but I guess that\’s how it was in those days). She is also buried here. More about this place from Frommer\’s
